MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision “Human Sciences Supervision Department,” held on Tuesday a preparatory meeting to implement the second phase of the induction programme for new teachers for the academic year 2023/2024, which included 20 general supervisors and heads of supervision units of study materials. The meeting took place at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Ramahi, Chairman of the Committee for Managing and Implementing the Induction Programme for new teachers for the academic year 2023/2024, headed the meeting during which accomplishments of the first phase of the programme, and the mechanism for implementing the plan for the second phase were discussed.
The second phase is planned to be implemented online from September via the (Teams) platform.
During the meeting, the timelines for the implementation were reviewed, by setting one day for each subject and presenting the most important specialised topics that the new teachers need in their specialty.
It is worth noting that the induction programme for new teachers aims to form positive attitudes towards the teaching profession, providing teachers with knowledge, attitudes, and job skills to prepare them towards the practice of teaching, in addition to introducing them to educational developments, and arousing their motivation towards the teaching profession.
