Muscat: The total estimated cultivated area in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of 2022 increased by 3.9 percent to reach 276,000 acres, compared to 266,000 acres by the end of 2021.
The total agricultural production amounted to 3.501 million tons, according to preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Furthermore, statistics indicated that fodder crops accounted for 42.5 percent of the cultivated lands with a total area of 117,298 acres and a production of 1,821,690 million tons. This was followed by fruit crops with a rate of 29.4 percent, with a total area of 81,129 acres and a total production of 484,270 tons, then vegetables with a total area of 69,074 acres produced 1.137655 million tons. The total area cultivated with field crops reached 8,408 acres, producing 57,711 tons.
