The death toll from Cyclone Mekunu rose from two to four, Oman's National Emergency Management Centre revealed.

While one expat drowned, one citizen slipped from a mountain while watching a wadi flow in Dhofar, officials announced.

In a statement online Oman's National Emergency Management Centre said: "The death toll rose from two to four following the cyclone that affected the country."

Despite the dangerous weather conditions, officials rescued 285 people so far.
