Action plan for Red Crescent discussed

Muscat: A preparatory meeting was held in Muscat on Tuesday in preparation for the 19th meeting of Heads of GCC Red Crescent Organisations and Societies.

The committee is scheduled to convene on Wednesday under the auspices of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development.

The preparatory meeting was hosted by Oman, represented by Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO), in cooperation with the GCC Secretariat General.

It discussed the action plan of local, regional and international Red Crescent organisations and societies, for extending humanitarian aid where needed. It also discussed a programme for training volunteers in the field, said Mohammed Hamoud Al Dhuhli, CEO of OCO.
