Muscat: From 17 to 21 of August, the Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Vessel “Francesco Morosini”, engaged in a five months’ deployment in the Indo-Pacific area, paid a port call to Oman, berthing at Port Sultan Qaboos in Muttrah.
Morosini has been entirely built in Italy and it is a state-of-the-art ship of the Italian Navy. Thanks to high operational flexibility and innovative technologies, the ship is capable to operate in the numerous contexts of the maritime dimension, thus carrying out multiple tasks, both military and civil protection.
The “Naval Diplomacy” mission in the Indo-Pacific region supports the Italian foreign policy and the promotion of the country, throughout the dialogue tools that the Navy can offer: support to International Organisations initiatives; cooperation with Friendly and Allied Navies; training activities with partners.
These initiatives will also help to support Italian values and culture. The current mission testifies the strong relationship between Italy and the Oman, who has provided with professionalism and full commitment the logistic support to make this visit a success.
