Major fire breaks out in Ghubra

Muscat: A major fire broke out adjacent to one of the leading shopping malls in Ghubra on Tuesday afternoon. Fire engines were seen rushing to deal with the situation, according to an eye witness. 

The road between Avenues Mall and MGM has been closed for traffic. This is causing massive traffic jam on Ghubra Street and Sultan Qaboos Street.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known.

In another fire-related incident in Oman, firefighting teams of the Civil Defense and Ambulance Department (CDAA) in Muscat Governorate were able to put out a fire that broke out in a house in the Wilayat of Seeb.

CDAA confirmed that there were no reports of injuries.

The authority has called upon citizens and residents to maintain electrical appliances on a regular basis and to switch them off immediately after use.
