Bait Al Zubair gives gifts to children to mark Qaranqasho

Muscat: Hundreds of Omani children were given gifts, toys and sweets by Bait Al Zubair on the occasion of Qaranqasho, which marks the halfway mark of the Holy Month of Ramadan. This occasion, which is very special to Omani households, is a particularly special day for children, who dress up in their finest traditional garb and are celebrated on this day. Celebrations often begin the night before Qaranqasho, which falls on the 14th day of Ramadan, and it is not uncommon to see bands of smiling, happy children approach people on the streets and ask them for small gifts of sweets and candy.
