Rain delays Oman Air flight from Manila

Muscat: An Oman Air flight from Manila to Muscat was delayed due to runway closure at the Manila International Airport, the airline announced on Twitter.
The announcement stated that passengers were accommodated by Oman Air and will fly back to Muscat on the next available flight.
Speaking to the Times of Oman, Usama Al Harami, head of the Communication and Media Department at Oman Air, said the runaway was closed to due to the heavy rains witnessed in Manila city.
“The Oman Air flight, which was heading to Manila and was supposed to carry on board the passengers from the Manila International Airport returned empty,” said Al Harami.
He added that the flight was asked to land at Clark International Airport, which is around 50 kilometres from Manila city and then flew back to Muscat after safely de-planing the passengers headed to Manila.
“Oman Air is processing the transport of the passengers to Manila city,” said Al Harami. Passengers stuck in Manila have been provided with accommodation by Oman Air and will be allowed to board the next available flight to Muscat, Al Harami said.
Last Saturday, an Oman Air flight from Muscat, suffered a tyre burst during landing at the Dar-Es-Salaam airport in Tanzania. All the passengers, however, were deplaned safely.
