Royal Army of Oman brings laurels at World Music Competition

Glasgow: The music of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) achieved top positions in the first stage of the World Music Competition and the qualifying competitions in Glasgow, Scotland.

The music of the Royal Army of Oman achieved first place in the infantry and discipline competition held in the city of Dundonald, while it achieved second place in the playing competition, with the participation of 19 musical groups from different countries of the world, and in the baton-bearers competition, Staff Sergeant Muhammad bin Khamis Al-Amiri achieved the second place, and Sergeant Nader bin Jamaan Jabali won the third place, while Captain Abdullah bin Juma Al Muhairi got the fourth place.

In the second competition held in the city of Bridge of Allan, the Royal Army of Oman music got first place in the infantry and discipline competition, which witnessed the participation of 32 musical groups from different countries of the world.

The first sergeant, Muhammad bin Khamis Al-Amiri, achieved second place.

As part of its participation in the competition, the Royal Army of Oman Music Band presented a number of compositions that won the audience approval.

Colonel Ahmed bin Salem Al Shukairi, Director of Music of the Royal Army of Oman, said: “The music of the Royal Army of Oman managed to achieve top positions in the first and second competitions within the first stage qualifier for the final competition. The laurel reflects the progress and experience of the Royal Army of Oman’s music in this field.”
