Salalah: The activities of the Gulf Forum for Youth Volunteering for the year 2023 “ISNAD” started on Monday, August 7, 2023 at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, which is hosted by the Sultanate of Oman represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY).
32 young volunteers from GCC countries will participate in the activities of the forum, which will last until the 11th of August.
The forum includes a number of workshops and lectures, dealing with the concept of volunteer work, its fields and the challenges of youth volunteering, in addition to reviewing the challenges related to the volunteer environment and society, and the appropriate ways to solve them.
The forum will also discuss the concept of managing volunteer projects and its importance in organising and implementing volunteer activities in an effective and organised manner, as well as the main stages of managing volunteer projects.
The Gulf Forum for Youth Volunteering aims to consolidate the culture of volunteering among Gulf youth and develop a spirit of responsibility and interaction with others, as well as highlighting successful models of pioneering youth initiatives in the field of volunteer work to exchange expertise and experiences among the GCC countries in the same field.
It is worth noting that the Gulf Forum for Volunteering is organised by the Youth Volunteerism Section of the General Directorate of Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, within the programme of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, with the aim of training young volunteers, spreading the culture of volunteering among them, studying and reviewing the challenges of volunteer work in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as involving of young people in local, regional and international volunteer programs in coordination with the concerned authorities.
