Muscat: Passengers of Oman Air WY 824 flying from the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur to Muscat on Saturday had to disembark after boarding following a technical glitch in the aircraft, Oman Air confirmed in a tweet on Sunday.
In an official tweet, Oman Air said: “Regarding the flight WY824 on 05 August 2023, from Kuala Lumpur to Muscat, the aircraft experienced a technical issue while on the ground and the passengers had to disembark after boarding. Once back in the airport, all passengers were provided with refreshments, based on available resources.
“After 5 hours had passed, as per protocol, the passengers were provided with accommodation. There was a several-hour delay at immigration; however, all passengers have been safely accommodated in nearby hotels.
“A number of passengers have already been connected to alternative flights and we are working on arranging flights for the remaining passengers as soon as possible,” said the Oman Air statement.
It added: “The safety and comfort of our guests remains our utmost priority at all times and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
