Muscat: Dust storms on some parts of the road leading to Dhofar Governorate due to active winds may lead to low horizontal visibility, said the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on Friday, August 4, 2023low.
Royal Oman Police said: “Dust storms on some parts of the road leading to the Dhofar Governorate due to the active winds, which may lead to low horizontal visibility in the area extending from the Wilayat of Haima to the Wilayat of Thumrait.”
The Directorate General of Meteorology also asks people to pay attention and take caution, it said: “An increase in dust and a decrease in the level of horizontal visibility on the road linking the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar due to the activity of the southwest winds (15-30 knots).”
According to Oman Meteorology here is wind speed recorded in some meteorological stations today:
Duqm station 31 knots
Thumrait station, 29 knots
Muqshin station, 23 knots
Al Mazyouna station, 21 knots
Marmul station 20 knots
