Muscat: Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate will begin from Thursday, August 3, 2023.
The activities of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival, which is organised by the Office of the Governor of the Al Dakhiliyah in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will be held from Thursday, August 3, 2023 to August 19, 2023. It will be held at the main site, next to Hail Yemen Park, in addition to Seih Qatanna.
The festival aims to attract local and international tourists and highlight the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Al Jabal Al Akhdar and the Sultanate of Oman as a whole, in addition to encouraging entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises to participate in the festival and take advantage of tourism promotion opportunities.
The Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival includes the organisation of the Bayt AR Rudaydah exhibition throughout the festival period next to the Bayt AR Rudaydah Fort in Birkat Al-Muz, which is the first stop for visitors to the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival and tourists looking for services or products that can make the tourist experience in the Al Jabal Al Akhdar easier and smoother. In addition to holding an exhibition for productive families and small and medium enterprises.
The festival will include a variety of corners, events, programmes and entertainment activities that are suitable for the family, as there will be a youth corner and a children's corner. The festival also includes a corner for Omani food and a corner for Al Jabal Al Akhdar farmers to display the various products of Al Jabal Al Akhdar.
Paragliding shows and theatrical performances such as the Aladdin show, the chemical science show and other shows will also be presented during the festival. A group of races and events will also be implemented for fans of adventure sports, including the Al Jabal Al Akhdar bike race organised by the Oman Cycling Association , the activity of tourist walking, and the Himm mountain running race.
Festival visitors can get acquainted with the history of the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar by visiting thve historical village of Al-Suwjara, where there will be a number of accompanying events.
