Transport Minister, Governor of Musandam visit Dibba-Lima-Khasab road project

Muscat : The Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) and the Governor of Musandam are briefed on the Dibba-Lima-Khasab road project, in preparation for starting its implementation.

His Excellency Engineer Said bin Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, accompanied by His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, paid a field visit to Musandam Governorate to review strategic transport projects within the framework of the interest that of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to the development of Musandam Governorate.

During the visit, the project of paving the Dibba-Lima-Khasab road was examined and the road route was examined. The project managers listened to the challenges that might face its implementation, and the demands of the people in the Niyabat of Lima .

A number of beach sites that will be reached by land after the construction of the road were also visited, in addition to discussing the alternatives and proposed designs in the Khub Al Shamsi area, while finding appropriate solutions with government agencies to overcome the difficulties to start locating the contractor’s equipment sites in each of Khasab, Lima and Dibba to start the construction preparations with the involvement of small and medium enterprises in the governorate in the project to increase the local added value.

After that, the Khor Najd-Kamzar road was visited and stopped in some areas to study the challenges in the path of the road and its implementation plans with all relevant authorities, and to agree on the strategy for implementing the road, and the possibility of the participation of local companies with experience in the field and dealing with the topography of the region.

The plan of the Moh tunnel project and the challenges associated with it were also reviewed.

His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology was also briefed on the progress of work at Khasab Port with the new operator (Hutchison Sohar Company), listened to plans to develop the current operational operations at the port, and discussed the future plans that the company is working on to develop Khasab Port.
