Ministry warns unlicensed private museums, heritage homes in Oman

Muscat : The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has issued an alert to owners of private museums and heritage houses in the Sultanate of Oman.

"The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism notes that some citizens practice the activity of establishing private museums and heritage houses without obtaining the necessary licenses, which is a violation of Article (16) of the Cultural Heritage Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 35/2019," the Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry calls on all museums and private heritage houses that are not licensed to stop practicing the activity until obtaining the necessary licenses in order to avoid legal measures in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Law.
