Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,778.81 points, down by 0.03 percent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.99 percent at 468.36 points.
Voltamp Energy, up 4.03 percent, was the top gainer while, Al Jazeera Services, down 8.33 percent, was the top loser. Shares of Oman REIT Fund were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat were the most active in terms of turnover. A total number of 303 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR5.52 million, with more than 10.09 million shares changing hands.
Out of 45 traded securities, 9 advanced, 13 declined, and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR40,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR33,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR7,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,812.08 points, down 0.09 percent. Prices of HSBC Bank Oman, Bank Muscat were up by 0.61 percent, 0.36 percent respectively. Prices of Global Financial Investments, Al Sharqia Investment, National Finance, Taageer Finance were up by 3.28 percent, 2.74 percent, 2.47 percent, 2.06 percent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,115.61 points, up 0.41 percent. Prices of Voltamp Energy, A’Saffa Foods, Oman Cement, Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramics were up by 4.03 percent, 1.95 percent, 1.43 percent, 1.21 percent, 0.82 percent respectively. Prices of Oman Packaging were up by 2.50 percent respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.62% before closing at 1,665.70 points. Prices of SMN Power Holding, Oman National Engineering were up by 1.19 percent, 0.94 percent respectively. Prices of Majan College, Barka Water & Power Company, Dhofar Generating, Phoenix Power, Abraj Energy were up by 8.00 percent, 4.44 percent, 1.72 percent, 1.61 percent, 1.27 percent respectively.
