
Muscat: Omani sculptor Ali bin Sulaiman Al Jabri concluded today his participation in the exhibition "China Garden - Hulan" for a floating sculpture in the international season of sculpture art. The exhibition started on the 17th of July, amid international participation that included 16 countries.
Sculptor Ali Al Jabri indicated that his participation in the exhibition came with the launch of his sculpture for the exhibition within the launch of the first floating sculpture garden in the world. The sculptures will be placed on buoys that will float on the surface of the water, allowing visitors to approach and appreciate these works of art through close interactions and experience the beauty of the fusion of art with nature. Other ships will tow buoys and travel downstream of two rivers: Songhua and Heilongjiang.
The sculpture is a vertical structure consisting of cubes of different sizes in an irregular movement executed in stainless steel. It is seven metres high, painted red and has polished outer surfaces. The cube constitutes the most important component of the building. The construction is completed through interconnection between the cubes that maintain their interdependence in a compact structure, and any defect in one of them may shake the structure and destroy the work, " Al Jabri added. His participation received the support and cooperation of a number of official and artistic institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
The sculptor, Dr. Ali Al-Jabri, has had local and international participation in the field of sculpture in the Sultanate of Oman and abroad, and has won a number of awards in the field of sculpture, through participation in individual and group exhibitions inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman in several countries, such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Monaco, France, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, China, and others. This is in addition to presenting many researches, studies and contributions in the field of plastic arts.
