Muscat: The new season of hockey competitions in the Sultanate of Oman will start in September 2023.
The Oman Hockey Association held a joint meeting at the federation's headquarters with representatives of the game's clubs to discuss local competitions for the 2023/2024 sports season, in line with the national teams' calendar and upcoming benefits.
During the meeting, it was agreed to set the period for the competitions from September to December. The season will open with a five-a-side competition for under 18 years old (born in 2004 and under), during the period from 8 to 11 September in the Governorate of Muscat. The Under-21 Championship (born in 2002 and below) will be held from 5 to 15 October in the Governorate of Muscat.
As for the general league, it will be held from October 24 to November 6 in Muscat Governorate. The Sultan's Cup Hockey Competition will be held in its 53rd edition from 1 to 20 December next in the Governorate of Muscat. The members agreed to cancel this year's elite tournament.
