Muscat: The CEO of Raysut Cement Company Khalid Ramis Al Rawas honoured Ayman Khamis Bait Maqas, an employee in the Company’s Human Resources Department, who participated in the Special Olympics World Championship in Berlin.
He achieved two medals (bronze in doubles and gold in singles) in badminton.
This honouring aims to support and encourage the talented employees of the Company in general, and the Omani talented people in particular.
It’s worth mentioning that the Omani delegation participating in the Olympics includes 36 players with mental disabilities, and 9 players who are partners in various competitions.
The delegation participated in athletics, unified badminton, unified bocce, bowling, and equestrian, and unified football futsal, golf, weightlifting, and roller skating, sailing, swimming, table tennis, unified tennis.
It is worth mentioning that the Special Olympics World Summer Games this year is the 16th edition of the competition and its activities in Berlin is being held between 17 June and 25 June 2023.
It included 26 different sports, with the participation of nearly 7,000 male and female players. The competitions are being held in historic facilities like the Olympic Park, Berlin Fair and Europa sport park.
