Muscat Municipality was crowned an international award at the conference of users of "Ezri" in the United States of America; for its joint project with a number of government and private institutions in the Sultanate of Oman for the online platform, "Etamid.
The platform was created to ease extraction of excavation permits in Muscat Governorate through a single station that shortens and simplifies the procedures using geospatial information systems GIS. Etmaid has been selected among the best (200) programs worldwide submitted by more than 100 thousand competitors, as this award is seen as recognition and advancement of the power of geography through a leading institutional evaluation in the field.
Ezrri, located in California, which has more than 300,000 organizations under its umbrella, including 90% of 100 corporates on the Fortune magazine list, is one of the most important evaluation and consulting arms in the field of adopting a geographical approach based on artificial intelligence, which encourages organizations to use the GIS program in the development and improvement of their services.
Muscat Municipality has considered the importance of participating in this conference, which received wide coverage of its business and competitive projects. In this regard, Huda al-Afifiya, who is the project manager of Etmaid platform in Muscat Municipality said that the participation of Muscat Municipality in this conference through the "Etmaid" platform project file came out of the municipality belief in the importance of the online platforms in facilitating access of entities in obtaining permits, and the ability to line up with modern software and spatial sciences that compete with the clear scientific evidence provided by it has shortened a series of procedures among a number of institutions in order to treat the extraction of excavation permits.
It is worth to mention that "Etemad platform Project" platform came after a serious work process and insistence on improving and reducing service procedures, as it was wanted to be one of the qualitative projects in the field of integration between institutions; which serves the mechanism of one transaction passing through a series of approvals.
