Muscat: After entertaining people in Muscat, Al Naseem International Circus is set to perform in Salalah during the Khareef season.
With artists of eight nationalities and having more than half a dozen lions, Al Naseem International Circus was a treat to watch at the Amerat Park.
“We arrived from Iran and we were going to Salalah. So during the transit, we performed for a few days in Muscat,” the organisers said on Saturday – on the last day of the show.
One of the biggest highlights of the circus was when the trainer performed tricks with seven big lions.
The lions have different traits and abilities. “However, none of the animals perform acts that they find it difficult,” the organisers said.
The big cats’ tricks range from simple commands, such as sit, stay and roll over, to complicated feats such as soaring leaps, wild flips and a reverse-pyramid in which they stand on shoulders.
The performers at Al Naseem International Circus hail from eight countries including India, Colombia, Africa, Egypt and America.
The circus presented a cornucopia of world-class acts — from flying trapeze artistes to trained lions. “The show created joy and happiness among the spectators,” people who came to watch the show said.
In addition to lions, snakes and monkeys were presented during the show.
Other attractions of the circus include the Globe of Death, it’s a cage, with two high speed motorcycle riders racing around.
Each show enthralled the crowd especially the children, receiving loud applause and cheers for well executed moves.
Clowns and jugglers were also a big hit with their witty and humorous performances on stage.
“Circus never fails to captivate us, me, my husband, my son and my daughter, we all love to watch these kinds of shows here,” said a mother while waiting for the second part of the circus. She also lauded the venue for its design, giving every spectator a good view even from afar.
Some stilt walkers wearing colourful and unique costumes welcomed families and other visitors at the circus gate. “From Salalah, we want them back again in Muscat,” was the common answer of the children, who came to watch the show.
