You could be sentenced to jail, fined upto OMR 50,000 for throwing waste in the sea

Muscat: Imprisonment for a period of no less than a month and a fine up to OMR 50,000 will be imposed on anyone for dumping waste or materials of any kind, shape or condition in the marine environment without a permit from the Environment Authority.

 The Law of Environment Protection and Pollution Control prohibits dumping waste or any other materials of any kind, shape or condition in the marine environment without a permit from the Environment Authority. It also specified a penalty for violators of imprisonment for a period of no less than a month and not exceeding two years, and a fine of no less than OMR 5,000 and no more than OMR 50,000, or one of these two penalties.
