Action taken against social media marketing violations in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIp) has summoned and taken legal measures against a number of practitioners of marketing and promotional activities on social media for violating regulations.

The Ministry said in a statement :"Recently, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has noticed that a number of those engaged in marketing and promotional activity on social networking sites have violated the provisions of the regulation regulating the activity. They have been summoned and the necessary measures have been taken. "
