Minister of Tourism inaugurates tourism activities in Al Ashkharah

Jalan Bani Bu Ali: The activities of Al Ashkharah atmosphere forum was inaugurated under the auspices of Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrooqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism at Al Ashkharah public park on Wednesday evening.

Mohamed bin Humaid Al Ghabshi, Wali of Jalan Bani Bu Ali, Head of the Organising Committee said that the gathering constitutes a new window for attracting visitors to enhance tourism movement in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in view of its richness in cultural and heritage fields. The function will lead to a qualitative addition to the tourism destinations in the Sultanate of Oman, which will help in encouraging domestic tourism, especially during the summer.

He added that the forum is aimed at enhancing the local tourism and supporting the national economy as well as an endeavour to integrate with the cultural and economic aspects through the diversification and comprehensiveness of events, and to sustain tourism activities by preparing permanent sites to host them.

He explained that the forum aims to increase tourism activities in the governorate on systematic and sustainable basis by the utilisation of its promising tourism potential.

The head of the organising committee said that Al Ashkharah atmosphere forum includes a package of diversified heritage, tourism and entertainment activities including the heritage corner, pioneers exhibition, in which entrepreneurs and small and medium establishments are participating.

Additionally, there will be entertainment and beach games corner, cultural and other activities. In addition, a kites festival will be held throughout the period of gathering.
