Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,774.43 points, up by 0.13 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.16 per cent at 477.75 points.
Oman Oil Marketing, up 5.00 per cent, was the top gainer while Musandam Power, down 9.94 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Anwar Investment were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Shell Oman Marketing were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 631 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR7.18 million, with more than 14.02 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 14 advanced, 8 declined, and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR87,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR74,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR13,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,815.95 points, down 0.18 per cent. Prices of Al Anwar Investment, Ominvest, HSBC Bank Oman, and Bank Muscat were up by 2.38 per cent, 2.12 per cent, 1.25 per cent, and 0.73 per cent respectively. Prices of Oman Arab Bank, United Finance, and Bank Nizwa were up by 3.97 per cent, 1.67 per cent, 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,174.85 points, up 0.48 per cent. Prices of Raysut Cement, Oman Refreshment, A'Saffa Foods, and Jazeera Steel Products were up by 2.92 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 2.00 per cent, and 1.82 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Maha Ceramics were up by 0.63 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.42 per cent before closing at 1,702.47 points. Prices of Oman Oil Marketing, Oman Education & Training, Al Suwadi Power, and Oman National Engineering were up by 5.00 per cent, 4.55 per cent, 3.57 per cent, and 0.93 per cent respectively. Prices of Sembcorp Salalah, and Oman Telecom were up by 1.04 per cent, and 0.20 per cent respectively.
