Muscat: A car pile-up involving four vehicles in the Dakhiliyah governorate has led to an oil spill and traffic tailbacks, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said.

No further information has been made available about the number of injuries and death. The collision led to the spillage of oil on the road and huge congestion on the main road leading to Nizwa.

ROP has issued a warning to motorists to be careful of the spillage in Saih Al Ahmar area while driving towards Nizwa.

A statement from the ROP read, "A traffic accident took place between four vehicles and oil spill on the road in Saih Al Ahmar area, led to huge traffic congestion. Please be careful while driving."
