CAA issues report on expected weather conditions during Eid Al-Adha holidays

Muscat: It is expected that the Sultanate's weather will be affected by a depression during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, The Civil Aviation Authority, (CAA), said.

The CAA published Report No. 1 on the expected weather conditions during the days of Eid Al-Adha 1444 AH. It said in its report that the skies of the Sultanate of Oman are expected to be affected by a groove of depression during the period from June 28 to July 1, 2023.

The report indicated that temperatures are likely to drop compared to previous days, to range between 35-45 degrees Celsius, provided that clouds will begin to flow over most of the governorates starting from Tuesday, June 27, 2023, with chances of sporadic rain, and occasional thunder during the afternoon and evening.

It is concentrated in the centre and west of the mountainous areas located in the governorates of Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah.

Wednesday and Thursday 28 June - 29 June 2023:

Scattered thunderstorms ranging from 10 to 30 mm may lead to runoff of reefs and valleys, moderate to active winds, with a speed between 15 and 25 knots. Average waves on the coasts of the Arabian Sea will range from (2-4 metres).

Friday and Saturday 30 June - 1 July 2023:

Scattered thunderstorms ranging from 10 to 20 mm are expected, and moderate to active winds, with a speed between 15 and 20 knots. The sea will be rough on the coasts of the Arabian Sea (2-4 metres).

The Civil Aviation Authority called on citizens and residents to take precautions and caution during rain and around flowing valleys, to check the state of the sea before going to it, and to follow up on the issued weather bulletins.
