Muscat: As many as 4,149 inspection campaigns were carried out by the Ministry of Labour in different parts of Oman since the beginning of 2023 as part of efforts to implement the provisions of the Labour Law and regulate the labour market.
The campaigns unearthed violations in different governorates of Oman as follows: 2,066 in the Governorate of Muscat, 12 in the Governorate of Al Buraimi, 342 in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, 458 in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, 174 in the Governorate of South A’Sharqiyah, 156 in the Governorate of Dhofar, 265 in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, 474 in the Governorate of A’Dhahirah, 48 in the Governorate of North A’Sharqiyah and 154 in Al Wusta Governorate.
These campaigns reflected positively in curbing illegal practices, regulating the labour market and removing illegal manpower.
It is worth noting that similar inspection campaigns are carried out jointly with different government departments like municipalities, the Ministry of Education and the Royal Oman Police.
