Muscat: Ways of strengthening bilateral economic, investment, education and trade relations between the Sultanate and Czech Republic were discussed between Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri and Milan Štěc, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, on Tuesday.
The State Council Chairman is on a four-day visit to the Czech Republic.
The State Council Chairman extended thanks for the hospitality extended to the delegation and the growth in the relations between the Sultanate and the Czech Republic.
The Council Chairman underlined that Oman regards the Czech Republic a friendly country and a reliable partner and is interested in strengthening the cooperation in all the spheres.
He added that leaders of both nations are keen to maintain good relations. He highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in continuation of the existing dialogue noting that inter-parliamentary cooperation has an important place in the Oman-Czech relations.
Dr. Yahya said that the two countries share an interest in promoting their economic relations and co-operation based on the current opportunities, which can help advance these relations to higher levels to serve their ambitions and development goals.
Milan Štěch also emphasised that the relations between Oman and the Czech Republic are good considering the active interactions and mutual understanding between the top leaderships of both countries, as well as the effective cooperation between the legislative and executive bodies of the countries.
To his conviction, the high level of political relations should be replenished with active trade and economic ties for which some works are already underway.
The Omani delegation attended the opening of the exhibition presenting the cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Sultanate.
On Monday, the delegation familiarised with commercial, educational, industrial and manufacturing establishments and discussed means of enhancing cooperation in these fields between the two friendly countries.
The President of Czech Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Dlouhy received the Omani delegation in the presence of Czech businessmen.
Dr Mantheri extended his greetings and shared positive outlook on boosting Oman-Czech relations. He stressed the keenness of the Sultanate to create an appropriate environment for investment and to provide all facilities to investors, and expressed his hope for further strengthening of economic cooperation and trade exchange in line with the development witnessed by the relations between the two friendly countries.
