MUSCAT: Oman and Turkiye, which lies on the crossroads between Europe and Asia, have a long history of bilateral relations and efforts are on to grow the bond stronger, according to the Turkiye Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
Speaking at an exhibition of Turkish defence industries products, which was held recently in Muscat, Muhammet Hekimoğlu said: “The relationship of friendship and brotherhood between the Omanis and the Turks goes back a long way and I am proud to say that the friendship has grown with each passing day.
“The countries have supported each other in times of need and stood by each other during good and bad times.”
The exhibition was organised by the Presidency of the Turkish Defence Industries and aimed at enhancing military cooperation between Oman and Turkiye.
The exhibition was held under the auspices of Brigadier General Mohammed bin Saleh bin Abdullah Al Abri from the Ministry of Defence.
Hekimoğlu said: “I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for providing a platform to introduce the Turkish defence industrial products in Oman.”
The Ambassador said: “We organised this exhibition in coordination with Oman’s Ministry of Defence and the Presidency of Turkish Defence Industries with the aim of introducing the latest products and equipment of Turkish defence industries. Turkiye has made a lot of progress in arm and defence products manufacturing. We have advanced military drones, as well as land and sea military equipment and weapons.”
The ambassador pointed out that 17 Turkish military and defence industries companies attended this workshop, and they are famous locally and internationally for their unique products of high quality.
The Turkish Ambassador expressed his great satisfaction with the Omani interest in the Turkish military defence products.
“I hope this military cooperation between the two friendly countries, which we have had fraternal relations since a long time, will continue, and we will work tirelessly to develop our relations in all fields,” the Turkish ambassador added.
