Muscat: The 'Rimal Park' project in Khabat Al Kadan area of Wilayat of Nakhal in South Al Batinah Governorate has been selected in the competition organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for the best of three projects among the governorates of Oman.
The project area is 225,000 square metres and involves an investment of approximately OMR7 million.
The Ministry of Finance will fund the project, which is close to Al Batinah Expressway, overlooking Wadi Al Abyadh.
The project aims to develop sustainable tourism and bring direct and indirect job opportunities for job seekers and employ SMEs to add local value to the South Al Batinah Governorate in particular and the Sultanate of Oman in general.
The project consists of a resort, an entertainment city, Al Wadi Park, an aerial lift, a place for food trucks, a retail centre, and car parking.
The project will be implemented within two years and is expected to receive 15,000 weekly visitors and provide employment to 344 people.
Sheikh Saif Hemiar Al Malik Al Shuhi, Governor of South Al Batinah, said that this project will encourage and attract investment, support tourism, and economic development in the governorate.
The project includes an integrated entertainment center with suites, space for karting, gliding, and other activities.
This project will boost economic growth in South Al Batinah Governorate and provide job opportunities for citizens and businesses for SMEs, he added.
