North Al Batinah Municipal Council discusses development projects in governorate

Muscat: The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah is discussing a number of development projects in the governorate for the third period of 2023.

The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate, in its sixth regular session of the first year of the third term of 2023 AD, discussed a number of topics on its agenda, in a meeting chaired by His Excellency Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and Chairman of the Municipal Council in the governorate.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al Kindi welcomed the members and thanked them for their tangible role in society and their direct proximity to the needs of citizens in their states. His Excellency indicated the necessity of continuing the study and consideration of issues that were previously discussed by the Council and following up on its findings. After that, the Council approved the minutes of the previous meeting and the recommendations it contained regarding a number of threads.

During the meeting, the engineer, CEO of Otaxis, was hosted to give a visual presentation on some of the mass transit initiatives that the company embraces. The council reviewed the list of priority development projects for implementation in North Al Batinah Governorate for the year 2023, which were approved by the Ministry of Economy.

The Council also discussed the report of the field visit that His Excellency Sheikh Ishaq bin Salem Al Rawahi, the Wali of Al Khaboura, conducted with specialists to follow up on areas affected by the damage caused by rains in the villages of Wadi Shavan and Wadi Al Sarmi in the Wilayat of Al Khaboura, on Monday, April 10, 2023.

Additionally, the Council reviewed the results of the meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Municipal Council on a number of topics, including: controls and specifications of shop signs, and the effects of cutting off electricity to the homes of beneficiaries without taking into account their living conditions.

The council also discussed studying a project to collect, rehabilitate and recycle used clothes, and a proposal to install surveillance cameras in places of food preparation, as well as display screens in restaurants and cafes. In light of that, the Council made appropriate recommendations.
