Muscat: The number of visitors to the Khareef Salalah Season 2022 reached more than 800,000 visitors, and the value of their spendings amounted to more than OMR 80 million.
The number of visitors to the Khareef Salalah season 2022 reached nearly 813,000 visitors, an increase compared to the same period last year, which was 767, 000, a change rate of 6.0 percent.
Visitors' nationalities:
Omanis constituted 69 percent of the total number of visitors to Khareef Salalah Season for the year 2022 , as their number reached 562, 995 visitors. The number of visitors from the GCC countries reached 161,260 visitors during the same period, up by 24.5 percent compared to 2019, when they reached 129,519 visitors.
Land and air ports:
Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information showed that 80 percent of the visitors to Khareef Salalah during the year 2022 came through the land port, with a number of 647,301, an increase of 79.6 percent compared to those who came through the land port during the same period in 2019 , who numbered 610,491 visitors.
In 2022, approximately 165,704 visitors came to Dhofar Governorate through the airport, an increase of 20.4 percent over the same period in 2019, which recorded 156,281 visitors.
Flights:
The number of domestic flights during the Khareef season reached approximately 16,114 flights, while in 2019 it reached approximately 15,198. The number of international flights during Khareef season 2022 reached 149,590, an increase compared to 2019, when the number reached 141,083.
Visitor spending:
The expenditure of visitors to the Khareef Salalah season for the year 2022 amounted to approximately OMR 86 million, an increase compared to 2019, which was approximately OMR 76 million. The percentage of spending on housing out of the total expenditure of visitors for the year 2022 reached 32 percent.
