OMR40 million investment plan for spray Boulevard project in Salalah

Muscat: The ‘Spray Boulevard’ project at Ittin in Salalah has been selected in the competition organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for the best three projects among the governorates of Oman.

The project is spread over an area of 470,000 square metres, with an investment value of OMR40 million.

The Ministry of Finance will fund the first phase of the infrastructure and some services with a value of OMR10mn and the balance is to be financed by the private sector establishments.

The project aims to create an integrated entertainment venue for all local and international communities and activate the role of the establishments and society, and boost local tourism in line with the international standards and support the Sultanate of Oman as a global tourist destination.

The project consists of a Grand Mall, the Square, Fountain Island, aquatic channel restaurants, local and international restaurants, an educational botanical garden simulating the natural environment, suspended walkways, theatres, specialised exhibitions and a space for events.

It is expected that the project will be implemented within four years and will receive 800,000 visitors during the Khareef Season, and 200,000 visitors in other seasons.

His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki bin Mahmoud Al Said,  the Governor of Dhofar, stated that this project will add value to the tourist potentials in the governorate.

The project has been constructed on the word Oman as a core axis and water as a driver of the environmental aspect and energies, and ‘Spray Boulevard’ has an element of raindrops.

The Governor of Dhofar said that the project will have cultural elements of present and the past. It will have an innovation centre and natural park as well, he said, adding that there will be space for investment for both the public and private sectors in this project.
