Wilayat of Khasab: OMR7 million investment proposal for ‘Ames Bay’

Muscat: The ‘Ames Bay’ development project in the Wilayat of Khasab in Musandam Governorate has been selected in the competition organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for the best three projects among the governorates of Oman.

With an investment of OMR7 million, the project is spread over an area of 68,700 square metres.

The Ministry of Finance will fund the project, which aims to achieve strategic linkage among different wilayats of Musandam Governorate, by developing infrastructure, stimulating tourism and providing new investment opportunities.

The project includes ‘Etlalat Al-Khalidiya’, ‘Ames Resort’, and ‘Ames Harbour’ and ‘Ames Bay’. It is expected to be implemented within a year and nine months.

Hopefully, it may receive 500,000 visitors annually and provide several jobs.

Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Musandam, stated that the project consists of an investment area for services at the foothill opposite to Al Khalidiya area, and a plot for an investment facility in the tourism sector looking over Ames Bay as well as setting up a marine facility to receive vessels and ships and increasing investment opportunities.

This project will attract investment in services and tourism sectors in Musandam Governorate and benefit the marine locations, he said.

The project will provide direct and indirect job opportunities for the SMEs and activate different sectors such as fisheries, tourism and transportation.
