Oslo: Represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Sultanate of Oman won gold medal at the FIAP International Youth Photography Biennal (FIAP) in the Kingdom of Norway at the individual level (under 21-year-old category).
The medal was bagged by female photographer Nouf Salim Al Siyabi, who was awarded top prize for her artwork themed "Mystery".
Oman also picked two honorary awards after occupying 6th and 7th places at country level, when it collected 324 points at the U-21 category and 353 points in the U-16 category.
Oman presented 40 artworks that were contribute by 25 male and female photographers.
Nouf Salim Al Siyabi said that winning the gold medal in this competition is a great achievement for my photography, and it means more motivation and harder work for me in this field. "I love my work 'Mystery' and its advantage is that it is a spontaneous picture of a little girl looking at the camera with a bit of mystery and astonishment," she said.
It is worth noting that the participation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in such international competitions comes out of its keenness to support young people and their creativity and urge them to develop their skills and raise the level of artistic taste for their creations, which in turn is reflected in their representation of the Sultanate of Oman and their getting of advanced and honorable positions for the country.
