Applications for  operating kiosks sought in Dhofar

Muscat: The Dhofar Municipality seeks applications from Omani citizens for operating kiosks and food carts temporarily during in the governorate for the fall season 2023.

In a statement, the Dhofar Municipality said: “The municipality would like to announce to the honourable public that it has opened the door for submitting applications to practice temporary activities (kiosks and food carts) for Omani citizens during the Khareef season 2023 in the Governorate.

Requests are being accepted from June 10, 2023 to June 16, 2023, and no application will be considered beyond the specified date.

It noted that the acceptance of registration does not mean final approval of the application as it will be subjected to study, evaluation and approvals according to the procedures followed in the municipality.

Priority will be for job seekers and  Riyada card holders, in addition the kiosks will be exempted from fees after verification and the applicants are obligated to employ Omani cadres throughout the specified period.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held at the office of the Governor of Dhofar on Wednesday to assess the preparedness of government and private establishments for the Khareef (monsoon) season 2023.

The readiness procedures were discussed during the meeting, which was held here under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

HH Sayyid Marwan expressed gratitude for the directives of His Majesty the Sultan to provide direct subsidies on fuel prices at Salalah Airport and equate fuel prices with counterparts at Muscat International Airport.

This, he said, will encourage the operation of more direct inbound and outbound flights to Salalah Airport.
