Forum to discuss investment opportunities in tourism sector

Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the Muscat Awards exhibition and forum in August.
The event, which will be held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), will focus on tourism investment opportunities, especially those in the fields of sport tourism and real estate in the Sultanate of Oman.

The events will kick off on August 7 and 8. The exhibition and forum aim to introduce investment opportunities and projects available in the Sultanate of Oman and present them to investors in the various tourism sectors, to attract more foreign investments in various tourism projects.

Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said during the press conference with the participation of many media outlets: "Believing in the high care and interest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - may God protect him - in the economy, investment and trade sector, and the trend to diversify and enhance the sources of economic diversification, and to exploit the position of the Sultanate of Oman and its natural components, the idea of announcing the Muscat Awards for investment opportunities in the tourism sector, which includes sports and real estate tourism, came up with the idea of announcing the Muscat Awards for investment opportunities in the tourism sector, which includes sports and real estate tourism.

He explained that the forum is interested in presenting investment opportunities in sports tourism in terms of establishing medical cities, international sports events and tournaments in the Sultanate of Oman, and providing the necessary facilities for investors in the sports sector as they are partners in sports development, and this forum will focus on presenting investment opportunities in this vital sector to establish international sports projects in the Sultanate of Oman, and it is expected the participation of more than 150 investors from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

He said: "The agenda of the exhibition and forum includes the establishing an accompanying exhibition for companies specialised in the establishment of entertainment, sports and adventure tourism projects, as well as the exhibition will include real estate and tourism development projects, in addition to the participation of international companies specialized in the management and operation of international tourist hotel facilities and resorts, and spaces will be allocated for small and medium companies specialised in the field of sports tourism and adventure tourism. The second day of the forum will be dedicated to holding bilateral meetings between investors and business owners, in addition to honouring the most prominent developers in the field of tourism and real estate projects during the forum."

Dr Siham bint Ahmed Al Harthiya, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "The forum will focus on specific sectors, namely tourism, sports tourism and real estate tourism, and the most important feature of this forum is the participation of many international companies and investors specialised in organising and holding events, sports tournaments and sports projects to participate in this event to identify investment opportunities, projects and incentives provided to encourage sports investment and benefit from the diversity of terrain that characterises the Sultanate of Oman, and contribute to the prosperity of all The economic sectors carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth are working hard in this vital field."

Dr Siham also added: "Many investors and companies specialised in the entertainment sectors and the supply of tourism project requirements with their various pieces from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Russia, Iraq, Algeria, Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, China and Portugal will participate in the exhibition accompanying the forum, in addition to the participation of international engineering consultancy offices specialised in tourism projects and residential cities."

Within the framework of the Chamber's cooperation with several other parties, the forum aims to cooperate with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism so that the Sultanate of Oman and the Governorate of Muscat specifically by 2040 AD will be the most important tourist destinations that tourists visit for holidays, in addition to paying attention to tourism projects and real estate development projects in contributing to the diversification of sources of income, and a number of the most important developers in the tourism and real estate sector will participate in the forum to raise the level of foreign investment in these vital sectors, in addition to creating job opportunities. Adventure tourism and geological tourism that characterize the Sultanate of Oman will also be discussed.

Fadi Zuhair Al Haj, CEO and Founder of Choice Advertising Agency, said, "A site has been allocated in the accompanying exhibition for owners of major tourist lands from Omani business owners wishing to find a partnership with the investors participating in the exhibition, and we invite small and medium enterprise companies specialised in the field of organizing sports events, geological tourism and adventure tourism to participate in the exhibition, along with international companies to participate in the field of organising sports events and tournaments, and a large number will participate. One of the companies specialised in operating and managing hotels and international tourism products, as well as real estate developers to present their projects during the forum, and a website and official pages have been allocated for the forum to register those wishing to participate in the forum from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, as well as special phone numbers will be allocated to register the names of the participants and send them invitation cards, and in the coming days they will be officially announced through local websites and newspapers, Direct meetings will also be held between investors and business owners during the forum to achieve the main objective of the forum and establish vital projects in the sectors of tourism, real estate development and sports investment."
