Muscat: Majlis Al Shura will hold a seminar on “Challenges to the National Economy within the framework of the Ninth Five-Year Plan” at Oman Council Building in Al Bustan in the presence of a number of heads of permanent committees, Majlis members and interested persons in economic affairs in the Sultanate.
Three working papers will be presented in the seminar.
The first paper will address “Economic Diversification: Strategic Choice of the Sultanate” by Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning, Intisar bint Abdullah Al Wahaibiyah, Director General of Development Planning at the Supreme Council of Planning.
The second paper will address the Monetary Policy in the Sultanate: Challenges and Stability Pillars by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Jahoury, Economist at the Central Bank of Oman.
The third working paper, “The Path of Public Finance in the Light of Low Oil Prices”, by Mohammed Jawad bin Hassan, Financial Advisor at the Ministry of Finance. It will focus on the current financial developments of the Sultanate, the challenges facing the Omani economy and the Sultanate’s experience in economic diversification.
