Oman and China explore investment opportunities in energy, minerals sectors

Beijing: Mohsin bin Hamad Al Hadrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals met with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the People’s Republic of China.

The meeting aimed at exploring opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation and partnership in the fields of energy and minerals.

During the meeting, Chinese companies with expertise and technologies in the energy and minerals industries were invited to invest in the Sultanate of Oman. It also underscored the importance of the 10th Arab-China Business Conference, which will be held next month in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The Omani delegation discussed means of localising industries related to renewable energy and green hydrogen.
The meetings come within the framework of the visit of representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Oman Investment Authority (OIA) and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz) to highlight various opportunities.

It is worth noting that China imports more than 80 per cent of Oman’s total crude oil production.
