Muscat: By the grace of the Almighty Allah and His divine support, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik presided over the inaugural ceremony of the “Sultan Haitham City” at Al Baraka Palace today.
When His Majesty the Sultan arrived at the inauguration hall, he was received by Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shu’aili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.
Then, His Majesty listened to a complete description of the smart futuristic city. The demonstration showcased a model of the city, which is coming up in the Wilayat of A’Seeb. The city constitutes a new model for setting up sustainable cities, and it simulates modern life and the aspirations of youth in the Sultanate of Oman.
After that, His Majesty the Sultan took note of the facilities of "Sultan Haitham City". He viewed display panels that outline a spectrum of structures, including a diverse range of residential prototypes embedded in a modern setting that epitomizes the country’s cultural heritage.
His Majesty the Sultan was also briefed about the brand identity and message of Sultan Haitham City, codenamed "Treasure the Future". The brand identity and message of the city reflect a vision for building the most unique and dazzling city in the Sultanate of Oman. The visual logo of the city was inspired by pure nature, along with golden touches denoting luxury and power.
After that, His Majesty watched a visual presentation on the model of Sultan Haitham City’s masterplan, its residential quarters, facilities and amenities. The visual display quotes figures about the assorted structures of the city (the numbers of schools, hospitals, mosques, etc.).
