Muscat: Two weeks after the successful start of operation at the new passenger terminal of Muscat International Airport, Oman Airports organised a media meeting on Wednesday in the presence of the editors-in-chief and editors of local newspapers and representatives of the Public Authority of Radio and Television.
During the meeting, a review was made of the efforts made during the commercial operation of Oman Airports with all its strategic partners.
They worked as a homogenous team to ensure the progress of work according to the plans of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation and the Oman Aviation Group.
The event included four presentations focused on pre-operating and operational experiences that exceeded expectations and accommodated about 25,000 volunteers who directly contributed to upgrading the service being offered at Muscat International Airport, as well as the relocation plans for the new building, which preceded the transition of commercial operations.
Commercial operation
The features of the new terminal building were reviewed at the airport, compared to the operations in the previous building and the efforts made since the start of the commercial operation until the end of the second week.
The services provided and the marketing plan were also discussed to raise the level of service provided through it, which will be revealed to the media in the coming weeks.
The new passenger terminal can accommodate 20 million passengers a year. The terminal has 118 passenger clearance desks and 40 boarding air bridges to transport passengers to and from the aircraft through 29 lounges.
