Muscat: Oman’s first budget airline SalamAir will fly to Tbilisi and Baku this summer, the airline announced on Monday.
Fares of the three flights a week to Tbilisi will begin from OMR106 and two flights a week to Baku from OMR121.
The flights will start from June 14 and will operate till September 4, 2018.
Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia and Baku is the commercial hub of Azerbaijan, which is a low-lying city along the Caspian Sea.
“Can’t decide where you want to go this Eid? Look no further! SalamAir will be flying to Tbilisi three times a week & Baku twice a week directly from Muscat! Book your flight today,” the airline said.
The three-and-a-half-hour flight will offer three types of fares—light fares, friendly and flexi—to both the places.
Light fares offer the lowest available fare, with passengers allowed to carry 7kg of hand baggage, while the friendly fare permits 20kg of check-in baggage with the option to change flights by paying a fee.
Flexi allows a maximum check-in baggage of 20kg with the option to change flights for free or refund tickets by paying a fee.
Awarded its air service operator licence by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) in early 2016, SalamAir’s journey started in January 2017 when it flew from Salalah to Muscat.
The brainchild of ASAAS—a national investment and development company—SalamAir was formed to meet Oman’s rapidly growing demand for air traffic, which is expected to grow by 40 per cent by 2019.
