Oman to witness more rainfall today

Muscat: A low-pressure weather system, which had been forecast by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), will bring more rains to Oman starting today, authorities have announced.

Oman's Meteorology officials had previously announced that the Sultanate will be affected by a low-pressure system located at the center of the Arabian Peninsula starting from Saturday until Wednesday 22 May 2019.

According to authorities, the weather system will be at its peak on Sunday and Monday, May 19 and 20.

Various parts of the Sultanate began experiencing rain since Friday.

Today's weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy over most of the governorates of the Sultanate with chances of rain of varying intensity and thunderstorms accompanied by active winds.

The authority has also warned of the possibility of dust rising in deserts and exposed areas due to wind movement.

The temperature in Muscat today is expected to rise to a max of 36 Degrees Celsius and drop to a low of 28 degrees, while in Salalah, the highest temperature will be 32 degrees and the lowest 28 degrees.

Across Oman, the highest temperature expected today will be in Marmol which is likely to reach 43 degrees, while the lowest will be at Jabal Shams with a forecast of 15 degrees.

The authority advised citizens and residents to take precautions during the rain and to check the sea conditions before sailing and to keep monitoring official weather bulletins.
