Muscat: The Oman Meteorology issued an alert regarding the continuation of rain today, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Batinah South, Al Sharqiyah North, Al Sharqiyah South, and Dhofar.
The Oman Meteorology issued an alert for opportunities of activity of cumulus clouds today, Wednesday, in parts of the Hajar Mountains and neighbouring areas, along with sporadic rain, sometimes thunderstorms, accompanied by active downward winds, during the afternoon, concentrating on the eastern and central Hajar Mountains (the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah).
“Chances of cloud formation and sporadic rain, sometimes thunderstorms, accompanied by active winds, are likely over the Hajar Mountains and adjacent areas, south Sharqiyah, north Sharqiyah, and parts of the coastal strip of Dhofar Governorate and its neighboring mountains,” the statement said.
It also added that there is a possibility of dust storms in desert and open areas, and chances of low clouds or fog at the end of the night or early morning over parts of the governorates of Al Sharqiyah South, Al Wusta, Dhofar and the eastern coast of Musandam Governorate.
The highest expected temperature today in the Sultanate of Oman is 45 degrees Celsius in the Wilayat of Al-Suwaiq in North Al Batinah Governorate and the lowest is 19 degrees in Jabal Shams in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
