Royal Oman Police warns against fraudulent job offer scheme

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), monitors a new fraudulent method involving job offers and warns people against falling for it.

A statement issued by ROP said: ”The Royal Oman Police warns of a fraudulent method, in which fraudsters communicate with targeted people via text messages containing job offers with a specified daily salary.

The statement added that they are required to open bank accounts through which sums of money from various fraud operations can be transferred and then re-transferred to external bank accounts.

The ROP advises everyone not to respond to these fraudulent messages, and urges them to lodge a report immediately when exposed to such situations.
