Environment Authority clarifies stance on environmental pollution in Al Dakhiliyah
The Authority confirmed that several measures were taken during the visit.

Muscat: The Environment Authority, (EA), has clarified its stance regarding environmental pollution in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and has summoned officials to come to the Authority tomorrow, Monday, in regards to this issue.

The Environment Authority published on its official account on Twitter that it followed up on what was published by an Oman newspaper about environmental pollution in Mardam Hasas in the Wilayat of Samail in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. To complement the procedures previously undertaken by the Authority, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, today visited the site with a number of officials and specialists from government agencies, in order to look closely at the issue of pollution in the landfill, and to find appropriate solutions.

The Authority confirmed that several measures were taken during the visit, including issuing records of environmental violations against responsible parties and obligating them to rectify the situation within a specified period of time.

In addition, the Authority pointed out that officials from those authorities were also summoned to come to the Environment Authority tomorrow, Monday, May 15, 2023 to set a plan for the implementation of environmental sanitation and disposal of hazardous chemicals materials in the proper ways urgently

The Authority would like to thank everyone who interacted with the subject, stressing its keenness to protect the Omani environment from any violations in accordance with environmental laws and regulations. It added that it will not hesitate to deal with violators, whether from public or private institutions, with an emphasis on the need to adhere to environmental requirements, laws and regulations.
