CBSE toppers in Oman: Read who are in the honours list
The Indian education board (CBSE) announced results on Friday.

Muscat: Indian School Ghubra’s Dhruvan Gnanadhandayuthapani and Indian School Wadi Kabir’s Shaan Shetal Vora emerged as Oman’s toppers in CBSE class 12 with an overall percentage of 98.6 in science stream, scoring 493 marks out of maximum 500.

Indian School Sohar’s Meghna Jayakumar was Oman’s topper in commerce stream with 97 percent while Rebecca Magdalena Dsouza of Indian School Muscat (ISM) and Thana Aysha of Indian School Ghubra (ISG) topped in humanities stream with 96.6 percent each.

In class 10, ISG’s Geetika Manoj Nambiar and Vedica Chhabra scored an incredible 99 percent while Amal Iqbal of Indian School Wadi Kabir was a close second with 98.6 percent.

ISG’s Dhaval Gowder and Indian School Maabela’s Rahul Elamaran and Navneet Gopalana emerged as overall third with 98.4 percent.

In class 12, Indian School Sohar’s Swati Rajesh scored 489 to record 97.8 percent and came overall second in science stream followed by ISM’s Jheel Chethan Thanki with 97.6 percent.

In commerce stream of class 12, ISM’s Demello Mark Savio was overall second with 96.6 percent while ISG’s Melina Natasha Goveas was third with 96.4 percent.

ISM’s pair of Diya Ganapathy Bollepanda (96.4 percent) and Fauziya Feroz Peerzade (96 percent) came overall second and third respectively in the humanities section.

The CBSE class 12 final results had an overall passing percentage of 87.33.

This year, girls outshined boys by 6.01 per cent with 90.68 per cent.

CBSE class 12 board exams were held in February, March and April. As many as 16,96,770 students were eligible to appear for these exams.

The board said it will award merit certificates to the 0.1 percent of students who have scored the highest marks in subjects.

In class 10, 93.12 percent have qualified. The overall pass percentage in Class 10 results this year is 93.12 per cent, which is 1.28 percentage points less than last year's 94.40 per cent.

A total of 28,471 schools participated in the CBSE Board exams in India and in 26 countries while the total number of students registered for CBSE 10th exams 2023 was 21,86,485.

The pass percentage of girl students in CBSE was 94.25 percent while 92.27 percent boys passed.
