Brussels: Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals met separately in Brussels on Tuesday with Van der Straeten, Minister for Energy of Belgium and Maros Sefcovic, Vice-President of the European Commission.
During the meetings, they discussed means of enhancing cooperation and coordination with the European Commission in the regulatory frameworks for clean hydrogen production and transportation projects.
The meetings also explored opportunities to enhance existing cooperation with the Kingdom of Belgium in the areas of investment in green hydrogen production, transportation and storage projects.
Meanwhile, a series of specialized workshops were held between the European Commission, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium during the visit. The workshops dealt with the general framework for hydrogen certificates and investment opportunities in supply chains, in addition to highlighting Belgium’s plans and projects to convert to hydrogen, and the initiatives supervised by the European Commission to stimulate investment in this sector.
The meetings were attended by Ru’aa Issa Al Zadjali, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Belgium to the Kingdom of Belgium.
