Muscat: Dhofar University Vice Chancellor Professor Amer Ali Al Rawas welcomed the Indian Ambassador to Oman His Excellency Amit Narang to the campus.
Amit Narang on his first visit to Dhofar University had a fruitful discussion with the Vice Chancellor on the important issues of cooperation between the Higher Education Institutions of Excellences in India and Dhofar University in the areas teaching, learning and research.
Professor Amer Al Rawas briefed the visiting dignitary about the great progress made by Dhofar University in the field of education, research and community outreach.
He highlighted the close association of the DU Researchers with their Indian counterparts which yielded a total of more than 250 research papers in various areas.
Professor Amer thanked Amit Narang for the great continued support of the Indian embassy and the government of India in facilitating Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with Indian Institutions like Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Mumbai, and Indian Agricultural Research Institute(IARI), New Delhi. With the support of the Indian Embassy Dhofar University has been offering Hindi Language as a foreign language elective for its students.
Amit Narang along with Praveen Kumar, Second Secretary toured the facilities of the University and had a fruitful discussion with the Indian academic community of the University.
